QA/QC OFFICER-UAE NATIONAL

Our Client
Our client is one of the leading engineering and construction companies operating across the GCC for over 30 years. They offer full-service engineering with a focus on foundations and piling.

Role
We are looking to place an QA/QC Officer-UAE National who will ensure Project Quality Plan is executed and supervised on project sites and is consistent with client requirements to national and international standards. This role is open to UAE Nationals only.

Tasks

• Study project specifications thoroughly for scope, materials, execution, and tests.
• Review approved documents before starting work on-site.
• Monitor site activities according to the Project Quality Plan and Method Statements.
• Coordinate communication with third-party testing companies.
• Attend concrete trial mixes at the RMC Batching plant and witness tests on fresh concrete.
• Advise RMC supplier/testing laboratory on sampling test specimens.
• Submit preliminary trial mix report to the consultant.
• Witness 7-day and 28-day testing with the consultant for the trial mix.
• Ensure submission of all compressive strength and durability test results for the trial mix.
• Report quality issues to the QA/QC Manager.
• Submit daily site reports before 9:00 AM the next day, including tasks and materials.
• Highlight project obstructions and equipment/manpower idle hours.
• Protect construction materials properly.
• Conduct inspections for each activity and maintain records.
• Issue work inspections in advance and obtain approvals.
• Submit installation records within 24 hours and keep signed copies.
• Maintain hard and soft copies of all approved documents and records.
• Follow a well-organized filing system on-site.
• Issue site observation reports for minor non-conformances.
• Issue internal non-conformance reports for major issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Address external non-conformance reports without delay.
• Establish organized concrete check points on-site.
• Ensure sampling of materials is done according to project specifications.
• Follow up on test results and coordinate with the Head Office for timely submission.
• Ensure proper calibration and availability of valid certificates for equipment/tools.
• Prepare and submit Monthly Quality Reports to the QA/QC Manager by the 3rd day of each month.
• Monitor daily concrete and reinforcement consumption and report to the QA/QC Manager.
• Submit project handover documents/records according to specifications.
• Hand over all Quality documents/records to the Head Office upon project completion.
• Cover fresh concrete specimens with polythene sheets to prevent water evaporation.
• Demould samples after 24 hours and arrange transportation to the laboratory for curing.
• Additionally, be prepared to perform any other duties assigned by the QA/QC Manager.

Profile & Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
• Fluent in English (written & verbal)
• Previous experience in Ground Engineering preferred
• Excellent knowledge in International Quality Standards, Codes and Industry Practices, Quality Management Systems, Testing, Quality Assurance and Quality Control
• Must have a valid UAE driving license
• MUST BE A UAE NATIONAL
