Role
We are looking to place an Executive Business Lead to provide strategic and operational support to drive organizational effectiveness, streamline decision-making processes, and strengthen cross-functional alignment. They will work closely with department heads to drive initiatives, assess business performance, and ensure alignment with key strategic priorities.
Tasks
Strategic Administration
- Understand intellectual property (IP) operations covering patent and trademark filings, renewals, oppositions, and client communication.
- Lead cross-functional projects that contribute to operational efficiency and business continuity.
- Analyze business trends and internal data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- Maintain oversight of business calendars, action plans, and milestone tracking.
- Oversee the integration of technology tools and platforms to improve operational efficiency.
Business Development
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and service lines in the IP space.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute growth strategies.
- Drive client engagement initiatives and contribute to the expansion of the client base.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Oversee the work of direct reporting lines ensuring they are practicing sound business judgements while keeping their team members well allocated, engaged and committed.
- Develop senior members of the operations team, foster a culture of accountability, high performance, integrity, and coaching.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to support growth and ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Support strategic risk management and compliance by identifying organizational risks, promoting adherence to regulatory requirements, and contributing to the development of mitigation and governance frameworks.
Primary Working Relationships and Representation:
- Coordinate internally with Directors, Country Heads, and Department Heads to facilitate work and meet deadlines. On an external level, coordinate with Banks and relevant governmental entities for processing transactions and reporting purposes.
- Represent the company at IP-related conferences, seminars, and business networking events.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, government bodies, and IP offices.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assume any other responsibilities as directed by the direct reporting line and the board.
- Always ensure a high standard of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
Profile & Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 16+ years of progressive experience in a business operation, or strategic support scope with 12 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in cross-functional initiatives and managing complex projects.
- Proven ability to drive business development initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must be fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
